Even though Cassidy and Dayna both played on the varsity ice hockey team at the University of Vermont (UVM) they never could have imagined how their love story would play out. While great friends at first, they both quickly realized there was something much deeper to their connection.
Eight years later, with many ups and a few downs, Dayna proposed to Cassidy on the dock of her family cottage on Big Rideau Lake in Ottawa, Ontario under a setting sun with nobody else around, just the two of them.

Today on the blog we have the bride sharing some of her favourite moments of her love story!
“We met on Tinder – we were both about to delete the app but gave it one more chance & instantly connected. We texted all day and night for about a week before our first date where we bonded over our shared love of pizza at Tennessy Willems. Since meeting we became inseparable and moved at lightning speed moving in together in five months and getting engaged the following year – it was only the pandemic that slowed us down!

Lauren and Justin worked closely with Michael Donovan from WEDECOR to plan their dream fairytale wedding at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. Set to a classic palette with soft blush and white tones, their wedding was a beautiful pairing of timeless elegance.
The morning of their wedding day was spent in the downtown core getting ready with the wedding party. Together Taryn Miller and Parla Hair completed Lauren’s bridal look with glamorous makeup and hair, leaving the bride feeling incredible on her wedding day.
WEDECOR created the perfect floral pairing for their wedding visions using garden and spray roses, listhanthus, hydrangeas and ranunculus with various greenery to tie in their design. This aesthetic was carried through the ceremony space with a lush arbour where the couple exchanged their personal vows in front of their closest family and friends.

It was love at first sight for Jessy and Melinda. Melinda shares their love story below:
Jessy walked into the gym one day wearing neon green shorts; I spotted him as I was climbing on the stair machine, and he spotted me, too. In his words, “The sun was beaming down on you like an angel.” His friend left a note with the front desk with his Instagram handle and a note that said, “Jessy has a school boy crush on you.” The rest is history. The proposal was December 30. I was blindfolded and brought to the rooftop of Brookstreet Hotel. I was greeted with 30 dozen roses lining an aisle with fairy lights, an arch full of pictures of us throughout the years and gold foil letter balloons that said, ‘MARRY ME’. Despite being blindfolded, my brain did not register what was happening and I cried instantly when I saw Jessy standing at the end waiting for me.

Jessica and Taylor selected the bright and modern Majestic Elegance resort in Costa Mujeres, Mexico for their tropical destination wedding. The couple invited their closest friends and family to celebrate with them for a week this past November.
The resort is everything a destination bride is looking for. Majestic Elegance is a newer resort that features beautiful modern decor, multiple indoor and outdoor locations for photo opportunities as well as variety of ceremony location options. With their timeless colour palette selections paired with the bright and airy setting, their wedding visions came to life in such a gorgeous way.

“We actually first met in March 2010 at a party celebrating the Persian new year. Farzad’s best man, Saman, was actually our mutual friend and we met through him. After that initial meeting, we didn’t see each other for 5 years until reconnecting again in 2015 through Saman again. After hanging out a couple of times, he asked me to be his date at an upcoming gala and the rest is history!
