When Riyaz first laid eyes on Ashley, he had no idea that a beautiful adventure was about to begin. Ashley and Riyaz decided to have an intimate elopement downtown Ottawa in lieu of their grand Four Seasons wedding they originally planned on due to Covid-19. On a rainy summer day, with Ashley’s sweet daughter by their side, they gathered in front of the camera of this thrilled Ottawa wedding photographer to celebrate the moment they finally said, “I do.”

The morning was calm and relaxed as Ashley and her best friend from childhood got ready in the stunning Andaz Hotel overlooking the entire city of Ottawa. With Ashley’s daughter by her side, she put on the final touches before meeting Riyaz for their first look at Major’s Hill Park next to the iconic Fairmont Chateau Laurier.

Riyaz waited patiently in the heart of the park to see his bride for the very first time. Ashley slowly walked over to him and tapped him on the shoulder. Riyaz’ reaction to Ashley as a bride was priceless and not a moment to be forgotten.

Under the expert guidance of the wedding planner and best friend Lauren with Sinclair & Co. Design, the talented vendors painted an elegant downtown elopement for the couple. The romance of the fine art inspired floral arrangements by Lauren, was perfectly juxtaposed by more modern elements from the hustle and bustle of the downtown Ottawa core. Ashley’s hair was styled with soft romantic curls by the accomplished Kirsty Gaudreault with Top Knot. Together with the skilled makeup artist, Teri-Leigh Armstrong Ashley was ready to officially become a bride!

Surrounded by the closest of friends and twinkling candelight, the festivities carried on well into the night at North & Navy. The congratulatory toasts accompanied by their favourite champagne kept the excitement of new beginnings in the atmosphere.

Together with friends and family, their life together as husband and wife began. I am so thrilled I was able to document Ashley and Riyaz’ big day, and I cant wait to see where life takes them!
